Welcome
The
NorthEast Arlington Organization is a group of neighbors and
landowners coming together to investigate the opportunity
of joint mineral rights negotiations. Recent activity by other
groups in our area have demonstrated that unity provides the
best means to maximize the potential of this effort by providing
competing companies the opportunity to negotiate a large scale
lease agreement.
Our
principal area is roughly bordered by Collins Street on the
west; Interstate 30 on the south; Highway 360 on the east
and Arlington's northern city limit. However, we welcome interest
from neighbors and commercial landowners in proximity.
To
find the level of interest for this endeavor, we asked a few
neighbors to spread the word among friends who might be interested
in meeting one evening at a local church for a casual get-together.
We were overwhelmed by the turnout and it was standing room
only with some turned away because they couldn't get in the
building to hear (the minister seamed jealous). We discussed
some basic thoughts and asked for volunteers to coordinate
efforts in their subdivisions and others to help with administrative
matters. As a matter of normal initial activity, people were
asked to complete a Memorandum of Intent (MOI). An MOI is
a non-binding declaration that groups use to collect
basic information - names, property address, etc. - then are
used to demonstrate the level of group interest to prospective
companies. It has nothing to do with actual lease negotiations
or lease agreements and people are under no obligation to
take further action.
If
you are interested in this effort, we invite you to complete
an MOI. You can print out a copy and mail the completed
form.
We
have a Steering Committee and Coordinators in most subdivisions
to facilitate our activities. If you have the time or resources
we welcome participation for those who are interested in our
community's success. Join us as we continue to gain momentum
and visit the website for more news and information as we
evolve.
